Our Club Philosophy
Turning players into leaders through volleyball!

Stars Youth League
Our club was formed in 2006 to foster the physical, social and psychological growth of youth.
Each player is encouraged to do her best within her abilities on and off the court. We emphasize positive reinforcement to build confidence and self-esteem in each player.
Our hope is to provide a service to help foster continued love for the sport of volleyball and apply the lessons learned both on and off the court. We will strive to develop the abilities of each player within the concept of a team.
We are committed to keep the focus on equal participation, cooperation, sports”woman”ship, responsibility and to have fun. It is all about the learning and fun!
Please read more about our Stars Philosophy, Etiquette and Code of Conduct.
We also support the development of coaches through mentorship and support of Level 1 NCCP coaching certification.
Our Commitment to Leadership and the Community
The North Shore Stars are a little different from other club volleyball teams.
We believe in developing leadership in young girls through more than just volleyball, including:
- Modeling leadership through our coaching and team activities
- Supporting community development through contributions to Harvest Project and Athletes for Kids (A4K) throughout the season as a part of our fundraising activities
- Encouraging and mentoring former Stars players to be junior coaches
In December 2011 we dropped off 41 bags of groceries collected during tryouts to the
Harvest Project, and we donated $650 to
Kidsport BC as a result of our 2011 fundraising efforts.
All that and great volleyball too!
