PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
All athletes competing for the North Shore Stars are expected to abide by the following philosophy and code of conduct at tournaments, practices, scrimmages, team trips and activities.
-
Your coaches love volleyball and are volunteers. They strive to help you and your teammates become the best team you can be. Treat your coaches with respect and communicate with them directly, not through your parents.
-
Respecting your teammates in all forms, including being kind, being supportive and being on time and prepared to team events. Rules and respect help our team run smoothly and every rule is for the benefit of the team. We are supportive of the players on and off the court and have a team-first attitude.
-
All opponents and officials are treated respectfully and in a sportsmanlike manner.
We do not complain, boast or trash talk other teams.
-
Play to reach your potential regardless of discouragement. There is often more than one way to do things correctly; you must be willing to make changes according to your coaches suggestions. Commitment, perseverance and responsibility will be rewarded. Consider mistakes as learning experiences. Be proud of what you have accomplished!
-
Be a part of a team takes sacrifices and each player is expected to do her best to her own ability.
-
Physical and emotional safety is important to team building. We support everybody on our teams, opponents and officials regardless of background, economic status or race.
-
Volleyball is one of the most fun sports in the world and is not meant to be stressful or anxiety inducing. Be grateful for every opportunity to play, make friends and have fun with it.
-
You are an ambassador representing Stars, your school, your community, and your sponsors. Be proud of it!
-
Being involved in the sport of volleyball offers many opportunities to develop leadership skills. As you move through high school, share your new skills and insight with new or younger players.
We appreciate your support in making Stars a competitive, inclusive and fun experience for all our players!
