2026 Tryouts
Stars Teams 2025-2026
We have currently confirmed 6 teams for the 2025 season, two at U14 and one each at U15, U16, U17 and U18.
U14 : Born between Sept 1, 2011 and Dec 31, 2012
U15 : Born between Sept 1, 2010 and Dec 31, 2011
U16 : Born between Sept 1, 2009 and Dec 31, 2010
U17 : Born between Sept 1, 2008 and Dec 31, 2009
U18 : Born between Sept 1, 2007 and Dec 31, 2008
Athletes born between September 1 - December 31st are permitted to try out for both age categories they are eligible for. However, you will need to register and pay for both sessions separately.
If you know anybody that might be interested in assistant coaching a team this season, please get them to fill out our coaching application form. Many hands makes light work!
About Stars Tryouts
Stars run 2-3 tryouts per age group, players should plan to attend all tryouts for their age group; if there is any conflict please let us know as soon as possible. Our team of coaches will evaluate players based on skills, ability to work in a team, effort and attitude. Team decisions will be made 1-3 days after the last tryout; selected players will be called or emailed by the head coach.
We encourage all players to bring a non-perishable food donation to The Harvest Project.
Please make sure you are aware of the Stars Philosophy, Player Code of Conduct, Parent Expectations, Volleyball BC’s tentative schedule, and club fees before tryouts.
The tryout schedule will be released in mid-October and registration will open at that time. Please check back here for more information regarding registration in October. Tryouts for U14 will begin on November 16th and U15 on November 23rd.
About the Signing Process
Stars typically only early signs a select few players each season. We believe in giving every player the opportunity to tryout for our teams. If you did not receive an early signing offer, it does not mean we do not want you on our team! It just means we would like to see you again at tryouts before making our decision.
Any club (Stars, BCO, Power West, etc) can make an offer before the Signing Date for that age group, however players do not need to respond until 6:00pm PST on the Signing Date, when the offer expires. Players cannot be pressured to accept an offer. Offers made after 6:00pm on the Signing Date cannot be rescinded for a minimum of 24 hours.
Players are considered to have accepted an offer upon signing the VBC Club Athlete Offer Letter or by paying a portion of their club fees.
